Automation QA Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Automation QA Engineer with 6–8 years of experience to help ensure product quality through strong test design, automation, and quality engineering practices. The ideal candidate will have experience across UI, API, database, and integration testing, along with the ability to use AI-powered tools to improve test productivity, coverage, and defect detection.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web applications, APIs, and integrated systems.
• Create and execute test cases covering functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and database validation scenarios.
• Collaborate with product, development, and business teams to understand requirements and define test coverage.
• Participate in requirement reviews, story grooming, and sprint planning to ensure testability.
• Identify defects, reproduce issues clearly, and work with developers to support timely resolution.
• Maintain test data, test environments, and test execution evidence.
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and quality gates.
• Track, report, and improve test coverage, defect leakage, and regression quality.
• Support release readiness by validating business-critical flows before deployment.
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve automation scripting, defect analysis, documentation, and test design.

Required Skills & Experience
• 6–8 years of QA experience, with strong focus on automation and quality engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright is preferred; experience with Selenium is also valuable.
• Strong experience in API automation and validation of service-level behavior.
• Strong experience in database testing, including validation of data integrity, query results, and backend-to-database consistency.
• Working knowledge of one or more programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python for writing and maintaining automation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of test design techniques, defect lifecycle, regression testing, and quality assurance practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Good understanding of test environments, test data, release validation, and CI/CD integration.
• Exposure to performance testing, security testing, or non-functional validation is a plus.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work closely with developers to shift testing left and improve delivery quality.

AI-Assisted Engineering
• Demonstrated ability to use AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline, Aider, Codex, or similar.
• Experience using AI tools for test generation, script optimization, debugging, documentation, and quality analysis.
• Ability to apply human judgment to ensure AI-generated tests are accurate, maintainable, and business-relevant.

Education
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in enterprise product environments.
• Exposure to performance testing, observability, and release validation practices.
• Familiarity with cloud-based test environments and CI/CD-driven testing.
• Experience working with distributed teams in Agile delivery models.
