Sonata Software - Python AI Engineer - LLM & Conversational AI

We are seeking a highly motivated Python AI Engineer with strong expertise in Generative AI, Azure AI Services, and modern Python application development.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building AI-powered applications using Python, FastAPI, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Agent Framework, Azure Functions, Azure Durable Functions, and Azure AI Foundry.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining intelligent AI solutions that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic workflows, and cloud-native architectures.

The role requires close collaboration with architects, product teams, and cloud engineers to deliver scalable, secure, and production-ready AI applications.

Key Responsibilities :

AI Application Development :

- Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications using Python and FastAPI.

- Build intelligent solutions leveraging Azure OpenAI Services and Large Language Models (LLMs).

- Develop scalable REST APIs for AI and enterprise applications.

- Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and conversational AI solutions.

- Optimize AI applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.

Agentic AI Development :

- Design and implement AI agents using the Microsoft Agent Framework.

- Build multi-agent workflows for enterprise automation.

- Develop autonomous AI assistants capable of reasoning and task execution.

- Integrate AI agents with enterprise applications and APIs.

- Enhance prompt engineering strategies and agent orchestration.

Azure AI & Cloud Development :

- Develop cloud-native AI applications on Microsoft Azure.

- Build serverless applications using Azure Functions and Azure Durable Functions.

- Integrate Azure OpenAI Services with enterprise systems.

- Utilize Azure AI Foundry for AI model deployment and management.

- Monitor cloud resources and optimize application performance.

API Development :

- Develop RESTful APIs using FastAPI.

- Build secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.

- Integrate AI services with internal and third-party applications.

- Design reusable and maintainable backend services.

- Optimize API performance and scalability.

AI Model Integration :

- Integrate Large Language Models into enterprise applications.

- Develop prompt templates and AI workflows.

- Implement model evaluation and response optimization techniques.

- Improve AI response quality and contextual accuracy.

- Manage AI inference pipelines.

Observability & Monitoring :

- Monitor AI applications using Azure Application Insights.

- Utilize Langfuse for LLM observability, prompt tracking, and evaluation.

- Analyze application logs and performance metrics.

- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system health.

- Improve AI monitoring and operational efficiency.

Cloud Architecture :

- Design scalable cloud-native architectures.

- Develop resilient and fault-tolerant applications.

- Implement asynchronous workflows using Azure Durable Functions.

- Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost and performance.

- Ensure security and compliance in cloud Work closely with AI Architects, Data Scientists, Product Managers, DevOps Engineers, and Software Developers.

- Participate in solution design discussions and architecture reviews.

- Translate business requirements into technical AI solutions.

- Contribute to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

Code Quality & Best Practices :

- Write clean, modular, and reusable Python code.

- Conduct peer code reviews and maintain coding standards.

- Develop unit tests and integration tests.

- Follow secure coding and AI governance best practices.

- Maintain technical documentation and API specifications.
