Job Description :

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior VMware Consultant specializing in VCF, NSX, and HCX to join our team in a staff augmentation capacity. In this role, you will be embedded directly within a major Brokerage Firms Software-Defined Networking (SDN) Operations Team, collaborating closely with an existing team of 9 Broadcom/VMware specialists.

The primary focus of this position is the lifecycle management, complex upgrading, and general maintenance of NSX and HCX environments. Please note : This role requires deep engineering knowledge of HCX architecture and upgrade paths, rather than operational utilization of the tool for daily workload migrations.

Key Responsibilities :

- Plan, validate, and execute complex upgrades and maintenance for VMware NSX and HCX within a highly regulated financial environment.

- Deliver senior-level operational support and infrastructure maintenance under the direct guidance of the client's engineering leadership.

- Maintain and optimize VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments, ensuring seamless integration with NSX and HCX components.

- Utilize VMware vRealize Automation (vRA) to manage, support, and troubleshoot automated workflows within the SDDC stack.

- Act as an embedded expert alongside the client's internal teams and Broadcom engineers to ensure high availability and stability of the SDN platform.

- Participate in rotating shift patterns, weekend maintenance windows, and on-call schedules as required to support critical financial infrastructure upgrades.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 12 to 15 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, with a heavy focus on enterprise-level VMware virtualization and software-defined networking.

- Proven track record operating within large-scale enterprise environments (Financial Services or Brokerage experience is highly preferred).

- Subject Matter Expert level knowledge of NSX (NSX-T) architecture, operations, routing, security, and upgrade methodologies.

- Deep architectural knowledge of HCX, specifically focusing on complex multi-site upgrade procedures, troubleshooting component appliances (IX, NE, WO), and lifecycle management.

- VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) : Strong experience managing and maintaining VCF environments, SDDC Manager, and lifecycle automation.

- vRealize Automation (vRA) / Aria Automation : Solid understanding and operational knowledge of vRA for cloud management and automation.

- Migration Factory : Familiarity with Migration Factory frameworks and how HCX integrates architecturally to support large-scale infrastructure movements.

- Ability to work seamlessly under customer direction in a fast-paced, staff-augmentation model.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a tight-knit team of senior engineers.

- Flexibility to accommodate shift patterns, weekend work, and on-call rotations to minimize disruption during critical upgrade windows.
