AGM Statutory Approvals & Compliances(Construction)

Job Purpose:

The Manager - Statutory Approvals & Compliance is responsible for ensuring that all ALD projects meet the statutory approval requirements at every stage—pre-construction, construction, and post-construction. The role also involves liaising with government authorities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and managing internal and external stakeholders effectively. The objective is to expedite the approval process while ensuring compliance with business interests and regulations.

Key Accountabilities:

• Statutory Approvals Management:
• Ensure all ALD projects obtain the necessary statutory approvals (pre-construction, construction, and post-construction) from relevant government agencies.
• Assist ALD clients in obtaining statutory approvals from various government bodies.
• Coordinate with government agencies (municipal corporations, HMDA, PCB, Police, etc.) to facilitate the approval process.
• Compliance Management:
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of statutory compliances for ALD projects and client facilities.
• Ensure ALD clients are in compliance with statutory approvals as per their land lease or BTS agreements.
• Maintain and update a comprehensive database of statutory approvals for all projects and client facilities.
• Stakeholder Relationship Management:
• Build and nurture relationships with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and related agencies at various levels to expedite the approval and renewal process.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (ALD, CR, and other Airport departments) to gather necessary documents, plans, and NOCs.
• Engage proactively with external stakeholders to expedite the approval process and resolve issues related to statutory approvals.
• Internal Coordination:
• Work closely with Business/Technical teams to ensure alignment with business requirements.
• Ensure business interest is upheld through compliance and regulatory processes.
• Provide guidance and support to teams on the regulatory landscape, anticipate challenges, and suggest solutions.
• Environmental Scanning & Risk Management:
• Leverage Business Intelligence to identify potential risks or challenges related to external regulatory environments.
• Monitor regulatory changes and alert the business to initiate corrective actions where necessary.
• Interpret government rules, regulations, and policy revisions to ensure business compliance.
• Regular Audits & Scrutiny:
• Conduct regular audits to ensure all statutory approvals and compliances for ALD client facilities are up to date.
• Review Property Tax calculations and ensure timely payments.
• Liaise with relevant departments, such as TS Electrical Dept., for new connections, demand enhancements, or derations.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Experience:
• 12-15 years of experience in statutory compliance and regulatory affairs, preferably in the real estate, infrastructure, or construction sectors.
• Skills:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Strong planning and organizing skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent team management and leadership abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage complex regulatory tasks.
