This narration describes key visual elements, such as on-screen actions, scenes, and graphics, that are not readily apparent from the audio alone. DV provides an objective and informative layer to the original program, ensuring accessibility for all viewers.

Role:

The role of a DV Writer is crucial in translating the visual elements of a program into clear and concise spoken language. This requires careful consideration of vocabulary, timing, tone, and overall expression while respecting the integrity of the original content.

Responsibilities:

• Meticulous viewing of video content to identify and analyze key visual elements.
• Accurate and timely insertion of written descriptions within a specialized captioning software.
• Thorough research to select the most appropriate and accurate vocabulary for each visual element.
• Rigorous proofreading of all written descriptions for grammatical accuracy and clarity.
• Adherence to established DV protocols and style guidelines, including any updates or modifications.
• Effective prioritization of tasks to meet all deadlines promptly and efficiently.
• Adaptability to overcome unforeseen challenges, such as schedule changes, program delays, or the need for corrections.
• Active participation in information sharing, record-keeping, and other assigned tasks as required.
