Senior Sharepoint Migration Engineer/Consultant

Project Scope :

Role : SharePoint Server 2019 On-Premises to SharePoint Online Migration.

Role Summary :

We are looking for a Senior SharePoint Migration Engineer / Consultant with strong hands-on experience in SharePoint On-Premises to SharePoint Online migration. This role is primarily focused on supporting a large-scale enterprise migration project from SharePoint Server 2019 to SharePoint Online, including migration planning, execution, validation, permissions, governance, and post-migration support.

The ideal candidate should have deep experience with SharePoint Online, SharePoint Server 2019, ShareGate, Quest migration tools, migration assessment, QA validation, permission migration, and SharePoint Online best practices. Experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, governance, and SharePoint Online development/customization will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities :

- Support end-to-end migration from SharePoint Server 2019 On-Premises to SharePoint Online.

- Perform source environment analysis, site inventory review, and migration readiness assessment.

- Assist with migration planning, batching, scheduling, execution, validation, and issue resolution.

- Use migration tools such as ShareGate and Quest for content, structure, metadata, versions, and permission migration.

- Validate migrated sites, document libraries, lists, files, folders, metadata, versions, navigation, and permissions.

- Analyze and resolve migration issues related to permissions, broken inheritance, large libraries, unsupported items, metadata, and content structure.

- Support SharePoint Online site configuration, page setup, themes, branding, logos, navigation, web parts, and templates.

- Work on SharePoint Online information architecture, hub sites, communication sites, team sites, document libraries, lists, content types, and metadata.

- Support SharePoint Online governance activities, including permission model, site ownership, access review, naming standards, and lifecycle management.

- Assist with UAT validation, defect tracking, remediation, and stakeholder sign-off.

- Prepare and maintain migration trackers, QA reports, validation checklists, issue logs, and status updates.

- Coordinate with project leads, technical teams, business stakeholders, and site owners during discovery, migration, validation, and closure phases.

- Provide post-migration support and help stabilize migrated SharePoint Online sites.

Mandatory Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience with SharePoint Online.

- Strong hands-on experience with SharePoint Server 2019 On-Premises.

- Minimum 5+ years of experience in SharePoint migration projects, especially On-Premises to SharePoint Online.

- Strong working experience with ShareGate migration tool.

- Working knowledge or hands-on experience with Quest migration tool.

- Experience in migration planning, pre-checks, delta migration, cutover, QA validation, and post-migration issue handling.

- Good understanding of SharePoint Online modern architecture, communication sites, team sites, hub sites, and modern pages.

- Ability to configure SharePoint Online libraries, lists, views, columns, content types, metadata, permissions, navigation, and pages.

- Good documentation and reporting skills.

Experience Required :

- 5+ years of SharePoint migration experience.

- Strong experience in SharePoint On-Premises to SharePoint Online migration.

- Prior experience in enterprise-scale migration projects is highly preferred.
