Infosys - Production Support Engineer - Python

We are seeking an experienced Production Support Engineer with strong expertise in Python to support, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain critical business applications in a production environment. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in incident management, application support, root cause analysis, automation, and stakeholder communication.

Key Support:

- Provide L2/L3 production support for Python-based applications.

- Monitor application health, availability, and performance.

- Investigate and resolve production incidents within defined SLAs.

- Perform impact analysis and coordinate issue resolution with cross-functional teams.

- Participate in on-call and rotational support activities as required.

Incident & Problem Management:

- Troubleshoot application failures and system issues.

- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.

- Track and manage incidents through ticketing systems.

- Ensure timely communication and updates to stakeholders.

Automation & Scripting:

- Develop and maintain Python scripts for operational automation.

- Automate repetitive support activities to improve efficiency.

- Create utilities and monitoring scripts for proactive issue detection.

- Support batch processes and scheduled jobs.

Database Support:

- Execute SQL queries for troubleshooting and data validation.

- Analyze data-related issues and coordinate fixes.

- Support database monitoring and performance analysis activities.

Monitoring & Performance Management:

- Monitor production applications using enterprise monitoring tools.

- Analyze logs, alerts, and performance metrics.

- Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend improvements.

- Ensure system reliability and availability.

Release & Deployment Support:

- Support production releases and deployment activities.

- Validate application functionality after deployments.

- Coordinate rollback and recovery activities when required.

- Maintain deployment documentation and support procedures.

Stakeholder Management:

- Collaborate with business users, development teams, infrastructure teams, and support groups.

- Provide regular updates on incidents, service requests, and production issues.

- Participate in operational review meetings and service improvement initiatives.

Technical Skills:

- Strong experience in Python.

- Production/Application Support experience.

- SQL and Database troubleshooting.

- Linux/Unix environment support.

- Shell Scripting.

- REST API troubleshooting and support.

- Log analysis and debugging.

- Incident and Problem Management.

- Splunk

- Grafana

- ELK Stack

Ticketing Tools:

- ServiceNow

- Jira

Preferred Skills:

- AWS, Azure, or GCP exposure.

- Docker and Kubernetes knowledge.

- CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.

- Knowledge of Apache Airflow or Kafka.

- ITIL process knowledge.

Educational Qualification:

- B.E./B.Tech

- MCA

- M.Tech

- B.Sc./M.Sc. (Computer Science/IT)

- Equivalent Technical Degree
