Job Description: Mortgage Claims

Position Overview: A Mortgage claims Process Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing mortgage accounts that are involved in Claim proceedings. This role requires a detailed understanding of Claims process knowledge review of transaction classification of expenses claimable & non claimable review of claim supporting documentation & reconciliation of expenses. Detailed knowledge of Intake Team Initial Claim Suplimental Claim Disputes Management

Key Responsibilities:

Claims Management:

• Review transactions identify the required claims supporting documents gather the respective supporting documents & prepare claims package
• Coordinate with vendors to gather missing supporting documents Invoices & detailed summary of the work performed.
• Monitor submitted claims review & create work around for the disputed claims/rejected claim transactions.
• Reconciliation of expenses filed for claims v/s claims received & work towards account adjustment
• Preparation of loss analysis as pre GSE & NON-GSE claims filing requirements.

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

• Ensure compliance with GSE & NON-GSE Claims requirements
• Ensure adherence to all investor guidelines company policies and regulations related to Claims and mortgage servicing.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Review of transactions advanced & segregate the advance as per Claims filing guidelines
• Prepare of Tax & Insurance corporate advances on behalf of borrower & gather supporting documentation for claims
• Prepare reports & status of the claim’s month over month for management review

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:

• Investigate discrepancies or issues related to claims management such as inaccurate claims or missing documentation.
• Work with Vendors internal team such as Escrow Foreclosure Property Preservation & Inspections Bankruptcy Appraisal & REO teams and other loan servicing teams to resolve issues related to disputed claims matters as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business Finance or related field.
• Relevant experience in mortgage servicing preferably with experience in mortgage claims process.
• Strong knowledge of MGIC FHA VA GSE NON-GSE Insured & Conventional claims.
• Familiarity with mortgage servicing software and systems i.e. MSP LPS Claims Management & LPS Invoice management.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex cases with legal and financial implications.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of mortgage industry guidelines (Fannie Mae Freddie Mac etc.)
• Experience working with FHA VA Freddie FNMA MGIC Claims.
• Certification or training in Claims for mortgage servicing.
