Cyber Defense Lead

Description :

Key Responsibilities :

- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the organization's Cyber Defence function, encompassing : Security Operations Center (SOC), Cyber Incident Response (IR), Threat Hunting, Digital Forensics & Investigations

- Define and execute an integrated Detect-Respond-Investigate cyber defence strategy aligned with enterprise risk objectives.

- Oversee 24x7 SOC operations to ensure timely detection, analysis, and escalation of cyber threats.

- Lead enterprise-level cyber incident response, including coordination of containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident review activities.

- Direct proactive threat hunting programs to identify advanced threats, attacker behaviour's, and security gaps beyond automated detections.

- Collaborate with IT, and Business stakeholders during incidents and investigations.

- Provide regular cyber defence posture, incident trends, and risk insights to the CISO and senior leadership.

TECHNICAL SKILLS :

- Expert-level knowledge of enterprise cyber defence operations and security incident management.

- Strong understanding of :

1. SOC architectures and detection engineering

2. SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR, UEBA, and cloud security platforms

- Advanced expertise in :

1. Incident response lifecycle and breach management

2. Threat hunting methodologies and hypothesis-driven investigations

3. Digital forensics principles (endpoint, network, cloud, and log-based)

EXPERIENCE :

- 12-18 years of overall IT and Cybersecurity experience.

- 7-10 years of experience in cyber defence leadership roles covering SOC, incident response, or threat hunting.

- Proven experience leading enterprise-scale cyber incidents and :

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent engineering / technology discipline.

- Master's degree in information security, Digital Forensics, or Business Management is preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS :

- CISSP / CISM -preferred

- Certified Threat Intelligence Analyst / Threat Hunting certifications - advantage
