Senior Node.js Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Node.js Engineer to join our core backend engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining robust, high-performance, and scalable microservices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into elegant, production-ready code, ensuring our systems maintain high availability and seamless data management using SQL databases.

Roles and Responsibilities :

1. Architecture & Backend Development :

- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain highly scalable, fault-tolerant Node.js applications and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.

- Architect and break down complex monolithic workflows into efficient, decoupled microservice architectures.

- Implement asynchronous event-driven patterns using message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) to optimize service communication.

2. Database Design & Management :

- Develop, optimize, and manage robust relational databases using PostgreSQL or MySQL.

- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, views, indexes, and stored procedures to ensure lightning-fast data retrieval and minimal latency.

- Design scalable database schemas and handle data migration strategies with zero downtime.

3. System Resilience & Scalability :

- Ensure high availability and reliability of core services by implementing advanced load-balancing strategies and horizontal scaling.

- Set up comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

4. Collaboration & Quality Engineering :

- Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and cross-functional teams to identify requirements and implement end-to-end technical solutions.

- Actively participate in and lead code reviews to enforce coding standards, security best practices, and maintainability.

- Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to maintain high code coverage and prevent regressions.

Requirements & Qualification s:

Technical Essentials :

- Proven Experience : 5+ years of professional backend development experience, with a heavy focus on Node.js (TypeScript experience is a strong plus).

- Microservices Expertise : Deep understanding of microservice architecture, service discovery, API gateways, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

- SQL Mastery : Strong proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL), including advanced query optimization and database tuning.

- Infrastructure Knowledge : Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and implementing load balancers (NGINX, AWS ALB).

- Testing Culture : Solid understanding of testing frameworks like Jest, Mocha, or Chai.
