Barco - Senior Software Engineer - Quality Assurance

Job Description :

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Software Engineer QA to join our Quality Engineering team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test strategies to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.

You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, DevOps Engineers, and other stakeholders to drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

This role requires strong expertise in test automation, API testing, performance testing, and modern QA methodologies within Agile environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks and test suites for web, mobile, and API applications.

- Create and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on functional and technical requirements.

- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing.

- Collaborate with development teams during requirement analysis, design reviews, and sprint planning to identify quality risks early.

- Develop and maintain CI/CD-integrated automated testing pipelines.

- Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar frameworks.

- Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.

- Perform root cause analysis of production issues and contribute to preventive quality measures.

- Ensure compliance with quality standards, testing best practices, and software engineering processes.

- Participate in code reviews for automation scripts and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

- Mentor junior QA engineers and provide technical guidance on automation frameworks and testing strategies.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve overall product quality and user experience.

- Track and report key quality metrics, test coverage, defect leakage, and release readiness.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

- 5 to 9 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation.

- Strong experience in designing and implementing automated testing frameworks.

- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.

- Hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or similar automation tools.

- Strong knowledge of API testing using Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI, or equivalent tools.

- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

- Familiarity with defect management and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, or Azure Test Plans.

- Experience with SQL and database validation testing.

- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience in performance and load testing using JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling.

- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

- Experience testing microservices and distributed architectures.

- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

- Familiarity with security testing concepts and tools.

- Experience working in DevOps and Shift-Left testing environments
