SAP Basis & HANA Consultant

Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced and proactive SAP Basis & HANA Consultant with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience to manage, maintain, and support our enterprise SAP landscape. In this role, you will be the technical backbone of our SAP operations, ensuring high availability, peak performance, and security of our SAP S/4HANA environments and associated databases.

The ideal candidate is a proven problem-solver who thrives in high-pressure situations, excels at troubleshooting complex application and database issues, and can confidently lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major system incidents.

Key Responsibilities :

1. S/4HANA Environment Administration & Support :

- Provide comprehensive technical support and administration for SAP S/4HANA systems and integrated environments.

- Perform daily system monitoring, health checks, performance tuning, and proactively address system alerts to maintain optimal uptime.

- Plan, coordinate, and execute SAP system upgrades, support package stacks (SPS) applications, kernel upgrades, and OSS note implementations.

2. Database Management & Backup Operations :

- Manage and administer SAP HANA and Oracle databases supporting the SAP landscape.

- Own, monitor, and troubleshoot database backup and recovery operations.

- Swiftly resolve failures related to database backups, log backups, and data replication issues to ensure robust Disaster Recovery (DR) readiness.

3. Incident Management & Troubleshooting :

- Act as a technical escalation point to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve critical SAP application and database performance bottlenecks.

- Participate actively in Major Incident Management (MIM) processes for high-priority (P1/P2) issues.

- Lead the post-incident process by conducting thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.

Technical Skills & Experience Requirements :

1. Mandatory Technical Skills :

- Experience : Minimum 4+ years of dedicated experience in SAP Basis Administration and SAP HANA database management.

- S/4HANA Expertise : Proven track record in monitoring, supporting, and upgrading SAP S/4HANA environments.

- Database Administration : Solid hands-on experience with both SAP HANA (HANA Studio, Cockpit) and Oracle database architectures.

- Backup & Recovery : Deep understanding of SAP/DB backup tools (e.g., Backint, BRTools, native HANA backup) and troubleshooting failed backup sequences.

- Infrastructure & OS : Strong familiarity with Linux (SUSE/RHEL) or Windows server operating systems as they relate to SAP hosting.
