Role Overview :

As a Cloud DBA with 5-8 years of experience at FourthPointer Services, you will be instrumental in designing, deploying, and managing high-performance database solutions across leading cloud platforms. This role involves close collaboration with our solution architects, development teams, and client stakeholders to ensure the optimal functioning, security, and scalability of critical data infrastructure. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and availability of our clients' data assets, directly impacting their operational efficiency and business continuity through expert database administration and strategic cloud resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect, implement, and manage robust database solutions primarily on AWS and Azure, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and data integrity for client applications.

- Administer and optimise PostgreSQL databases, including performance tuning, query optimisation, indexing strategies, and capacity planning to meet evolving business demands.

- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python for routine DBA tasks, monitoring, alerting, and infrastructure provisioning, enhancing operational efficiency.

- Proactively monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal system health and responsiveness for end-users.

- Establish and enforce database security best practices, manage user access, and ensure compliance with industry standards and client-specific regulatory requirements.

- Collaborate with development teams to review database designs, advise on best practices, and troubleshoot complex data-related issues in production and non-production environments.

- Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities with minimal downtime, supporting continuous service delivery for our clients.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in database administration, with a strong focus on cloud-native database services on AWS (e.g., RDS, Aurora) and Azure (e.g., Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB).

- Proficient understanding and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL administration, including replication, backup/restore, and performance tuning.

- Advanced scripting capabilities in Python for automating database tasks, infrastructure management, and data manipulation.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex database performance and availability issues under pressure.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- A proactive approach to identifying potential issues and implementing preventative measures to ensure system stability and security.

- Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, client-facing consulting environment across multiple projects and technologies in Bangalore or Gurgaon/Gurugram.
