PURPOSE:

Design and develop complex or strategic software components of an IT application, lead technical analysis activities, mentor junior developers, and contribute to improving development practices and solution quality.

Responsibilities:

Analyze Requirements:

• Analyze user needs for complex or cross-functional modules.
• Collaborate with functional/technical-functional analysts to challenge and clarify requirements.
• Anticipate technical implications and propose optimizations.

Draft Technical Specifications:

• Define and document robust and scalable solutions.
• Contribute to workload estimations with a focus on risk identification and mitigation.
• Review and validate technical designs produced by others.

Implement the Solution:

• Develop components in line with architecture principles and coding standards.
• Perform thorough unit, integration, and non-regression testing.
• Ensure performance and security best practices are applied.
• Guide and review code produced by peers.
• Document solutions clearly for support and sustainability.

Communication and Support:

• Act as a technical advisor for less experienced developers.
• Contribute proactively to design workshops and propose architectural improvements.
• Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting.
• Participate in knowledge sharing and technical communities of practice.

Internal & External Work Relationships:

• With Business Stakeholders, to understand needs and contribute to solution design.
• With Architects, to validate and align technical decisions.
• With Project Managers, to assess technical risks and provide progress reporting.
• With Developers and External Providers, to coordinate development efforts and mentor when needed.
• With Helpdesk and Support teams, to provide 3rd-level assistance and technical insight.

Responsibilities & Degree of Autonomy:

• Accountable for technical quality and performance of delivered components.
• High level of autonomy; expected to work independently and make decisions within defined architecture and guidelines.
• Responsible for mentoring peers and improving team efficiency.

Specific Professional Knowledge:

• Expertise in software architecture, patterns, and advanced programming techniques.
• Solid experience in code quality practices (CI/CD, unit tests, code reviews).
• Fluent in English (French appreciated); able to lead technical discussions and present solutions clearly.

Required Skills:

• 3-8 yrs experience in Natural and Adabas

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree (Bac+3 minimum) & minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, including experience on complex projects or critical applications.
