About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished General Manager – Projects to lead the execution, integration, and lifecycle delivery of advanced Defence Electronics Programs involving Radar Systems, Electronic Warfare (EW), and Strategic Communication Platforms. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a technically strong and execution-focused professional capable of managing complex, multidisciplinary defence engineering programs while collaborating with key stakeholders including DRDO, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, and Defence PSUs.

Responsibilities

• Program Leadership & Execution
• Establish robust project execution frameworks, governance mechanisms, and project baselines.
• Drive project execution excellence to ensure on-time, within-budget, and high-quality program delivery.
• Monitor program risks, schedules, resources, and technical deliverables across multiple projects.
• Lead cross-functional teams through the complete project lifecycle.
• Defence Program Management
• Act as the primary technical and program interface for customers and stakeholders including:
• DRDO
• Indian Navy
• Indian Air Force
• Defence Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)
• Coordinate project reviews, customer interactions, and milestone approvals.
• Systems Engineering & Compliance
• Ensure system development and qualification activities comply with defence standards including:
• MIL-STD-810 (Environmental Qualification)
• MIL-STD-461 (EMI / EMC Compliance)
• Drive adherence to AS9100 Rev D quality management standards.
• Ensure successful product qualification and certification activities.
• Design Reviews & Qualification Programs
• Lead critical defence engineering reviews including:
• System Requirement Specification (SyRS)
• Preliminary Design Review (PDR)
• Critical Design Review (CDR)
• Oversee qualification and customer acceptance activities:
• Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
• Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
• Joint Field Evaluation Trials
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with Supply Chain teams to ensure procurement readiness for specialized and high-reliability components.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Production, and QA/QC teams to optimize:
• Manufacturing workflows
• Environmental Stress Screening (ESS)
• Product reliability and qualification processes
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery functions.

Qualifications

• Mandatory: B.E / B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) or Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)
• Preferred: M.Tech, MBA

Required Skills

• Extensive experience leading Defence Electronics, Radar, EW, Aerospace, or Strategic Systems programs.
• Strong understanding of military standards, systems integration, and qualification processes.
• Proven ability to manage large multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Demonstrated success in stakeholder management across defence organizations and government agencies.

Pay range and compensation package

Location: Siruseri, Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Work Mode: Full-Time | Onsite (Work From Office)
