Position Overview:

The Team Lead for Facilities Management and Support Services (FMSS) plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing a team responsible for maintaining and enhancing the functionality and aesthetics of the organizations facilities. This role combines technical knowledge and administrative skills to ensure the smooth operation of facilities and support services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to a team of facility management professionals including technicians custodial staff and support personnel. Set clear performance expectations & goals for the team.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide candid feedback to the team.
  • Develop and execute a preventive maintenance program to ensure the upkeep of all facilities including HVAC systems electrical & fire safety systems plumbing and building structures.
  • Coordinate and oversee repair and maintenance projects ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized services and repairs. Evaluate vendor performance negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with service agreements. Monitor and manage the budget for facility maintenance and repair expenses.
  • Identify opportunities for facility improvement and efficiency enhancements. Develop and propose budgets for facility upgrades and renovations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations codes and standards. Implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety training for staff. Investigate and report any safety incidents or violations.
  • Maintain accurate records of facility maintenance activities expenses and equipment inventories. Prepare reports and update presentations for management regarding facility operations and improvements.
  • Promote and implement sustainable practices within facilities including energy conservation and waste reduction. Explore opportunities for green certifications or sustainability awards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in any discipline/ Facilities Management Engineering Business Administration or a related field.
  • Proven experience in facilities management with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in excel and power points and Microsoft Office Suite.
