Technical Support & Development - ISI Exeter WMS
We are looking for an Experienced Associate Technical Support & Development Engineer to provide advanced support and contribute to the enhancement of the ISI Exeter Warehouse Management System (WMS). The role involves incident resolution, root cause analysis, solution development, integration support, and continuous improvement of warehouse operations through IT solutions. The Senior Associate will also act as a bridge between business users, warehouse operations, and IT teams, ensuring stability, scalability, and performance of the Exeter WMS platform in a fast-paced logistics and supply chain environment.
Mandatory Skills :
Key Responsibilities Support & Maintenance :
- Provide L2 / L3 technical support for ISI Exeter WMS incidents and service requests.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and permanent fixes for recurring issues.
- Monitor system health, scheduled jobs, and data flows; proactively address performance bottlenecks.
- Manage user access, roles, and permissions in compliance with organizational policies.
- Ensure high system availability and adherence to defined & Enhancements :
- Design, develop, and test custom features, reports, and workflows within the Exeter WMS environment.
- Support system upgrades, migrations, and patch deployments, ensuring backward compatibility.
- Develop or enhance integration solutions between WMS and ERP / TMS / 3PL systems (via APIs, EDI, flat files).
- Collaborate with business teams to translate operational needs into technical solutions.
- Conduct UAT support, release planning, and production rollouts for new & Continuous Improvement :
- Document knowledge base articles, technical guides, and SOPs for recurring issues and solutions.
- Analyze system usage and suggest process improvements to optimize warehouse efficiency.
- Work with operations teams to streamline order processing, inventory control, and & Regional Engagement :
- Liaise with warehouse operations, supply chain, IT infrastructure, and vendor teams for resolution of cross-system issues.
- Provide coverage and coordinate with global / regional teams to ensure seamless WMS Skills & Qualifications Skills :
- Strong working knowledge of WMS applications, preferably ISI Exeter WMS.
- Understanding of integration methods used with WMS systems : APIs (REST / SOAP). Flat file (CSV, XML, JSON)
interfaces. EDI transactions (e.g., 940, 945, 856 for warehouse / shipping). Familiarity with message queuing or middleware used in supply chain (e.g., IBM MQ, Kafka). Knowledge of ERP (SAP / Oracle) and TMS integration touchpoints.
Understanding of supply chain processes (inbound, outbound, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control).Experience in customization, scripting, or configuration within WMS platforms.Familiarity with incident management tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.).Deep understanding of ISI Exeter WMS architecture, configuration, and workflows.Knowledge of warehouse operations modules (inbound, outbound, order management, picking / packing, shipping, returns, inventory control).Experience with system configuration (business rules, parameters, role management).Familiarity with WMS customization tools and scripting capabilities.Strong knowledge of SQL (queries, joins, stored procedures) for : Troubleshooting data inconsistencies. Generating custom reports. Validating integration jobs.Familiarity with reporting tools (e.g., Crystal Reports, SSRS, or embedded WMS reporting modules).Ability to develop enhancements and extensions within ISI Exeter WMS (using its configuration / development framework).Scripting or coding experience in : C#, Java, or .NET (commonly used for WMS extensions). PL / SQL / T-SQL for backend development. Shell scripting / Python (for automation and batch jobs).Experience in debugging application logs and applying patches.Familiarity with application servers (Tomcat, WebLogic, or similar, depending on Exeter WMS deployment).Understanding of Windows / Linux server environments where WMS runs.Knowledge of job schedulers (Control-M, Autosys, or internal job scheduling tools).Experience in performance monitoring & tuning for large-scale WMS to have skills :Soft Skills :
