Job descriptionPython (ETL scripting, API integration, scheduling) SQL (MS SQL Server / MySQL / PostgreSQL) REST APIs (authentication, JSON handling) Power BI (data modeling, DAX formulas, refresh scheduling) Automation tools : SSIS, Power Automate, or cron-based jobs Version control : Git / GitHub English : Must speak and write clearly for daily communication Logistics / fleet-management data familiarity QuickBooks API or fuel-card data experience Light server administration (Windows Server / Linux / Azure) At least one working API integration (e.g. Samsara → SQL → Power BI). One or more Power BI dashboards with live, refreshable data. Documented ETL scripts and workflows. Recommendations for next automation priorities. 3+ years of experience in data engineering, backend development, or automation. Highly independent, organized, and reliable. Fluent English speaker comfortable working directly with an overseas manager. Able to estimate time accurately and meet deadlines. Term : 3 months (renewable 6 – 12 months on strong performance) Start : November Hours : ~40 hrs / week, flexible with overlap for meetings Review : Formal evaluation at end of 3 months
Location : Remote / Uttarakhand - Ramnagar Office
Type : 3-Month Contract (extendable based on performance)
Work Hours : Must overlap 3–4 hours / day with Eastern Time (Canada)
Compensation : ₹100,000 – ₹150,000 INR per month (depending on skill & experience)
About the Role
Kooner Transport Group (Canada) operates a large cross-border trucking fleet with over 100 power units and a full maintenance facility.
We’re hiring a self-managing Senior Data & Automation Engineer on a 3-month contract to automate and integrate our systems, centralize data, and build live dashboards for our operations and maintenance teams.
You’ll collaborate directly with Canadian management, receive clear business goals, and be responsible for designing, building, and delivering working technical solutions independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain ETL / data pipelines between multiple systems : TransPlus TMS, Samsara telematics, MIR-RT maintenance, WEX fuel, and QuickBooks.
- Develop SQL databases to centralize operational data for analytics.
- Create Power BI dashboards showing metrics.
- Automate manual workflows (data pulls, CSV / API exports, scheduled reports, and notifications).
- Communicate progress, timelines, and issues clearly in fluent English with Canadian management.
- Provide full documentation for scripts, integrations, and dashboards.
