Essential Responsibilities :
- Gather and interpret information from clients, brokers, and underwriters.
- Quantify catastrophe risk embedded in reinsurance submissions for Reinsurance operations.
- Support broader risk management initiatives in collaboration with corporate teams.
- Model catastrophe reinsurance structures and strategies using RMS, AIR, and other vendor tools to support actuarial / underwriting functions, primarily serving Bermuda across all lines of business.
- Work closely with customers to understand exposures, review modeling results, explain modeling limitations, and resolve issues promptly.
- Assess data quality and apply necessary assumptions for accurate catastrophe modeling.
- Create reports for client exposure and modeled losses.
- Support functional improvement projects such as model validation, exposure aggregation, tool development, and data mining.
- Assist in preparing quarterly aggregation reports, building in-force portfolios, and providing loss distributions by peril and region.
- Develop processes and scripts to facilitate data transfers and optimize risk calculations.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- You will report to the Head of CAT Analytics, Reinsurance.
Required Skills and Abilities :
Relevant years of experience in a catastrophe modeling role.Proficiency with RMS products, especially RiskLink.Experience with AIR products would be highly advantageous.Understanding of reinsurance terms and conditions would be highly advantageous.Desired Skills and Abilities :
Undergraduate-level knowledge of statistical and mathematical concepts.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Access, SQL, VBA, and GIS tools.Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Education
