Field Operations - Process

Job Summary

To execute safe operations of caustic soda flaker plant & caustic concentration unit & timely dispatch of vehicle.

Key Individual Accountabilities

• Ensure smooth and safe operation of the caustic soda flaker, caustic concentration unit, burner, flaker drum, bagging unit, and belt conveyor.
• Maintain regular monitoring and logbook recording of all critical process parameters and equipment rounds in the assigned area.
• Identify and report any deviations from standard operating parameters mentioned in the logbook, along with corrective actions.
• Monitor salt tank levels and final concentrator tube temperatures to ensure stable plant performance.
• Perform cross-verification of product bag weight and ensure proper loading of caustic soda bags as per SOP requirements.
• Monitor vehicle movement and dispatch activities to avoid delays and ensure timely material dispatch.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards in the plant area, godown, equipment floors, effluent pit, and storm water drains.
• Monitor and maintain records of raw material stock, including sugar, high-temperature salt, binder, thread rolls, and empty HDPE bags.
• Restrict unauthorized entry into highly hazardous areas and ensure compliance with all plant safety practices.
• Track daily chemical consumption against budgeted values and analyze deviations with proper justification.
• Prepare daily reports for godown stock, process operations, plant shutdowns, and equipment shutdown planning.
• Ensure compliance with legal and safety requirements, monitor safety devices, identify leakages, and coordinate safe clearance/job lists for maintenance activities.

Technical & Behavioral Skills & Knowledge

• Diploma – Chemical / B.Sc Chemistry with experience of 3 to 7 years in medium to large chemical/ chlor alkali industries.
• Should possess experience in operation of handling Chlorine Operations.
• Knowledge of emergency handling
• Should have knowledge of ISO standards and procedures.
• Operational knowledge of Computers.
• Should have exposure of necessary statutory compliance.
• Should have knowledge & exposure of Environment, Health & Safety requirements.
