Role Overview :

We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager (Backend) with strong expertise in Golang and experience building high-scale B2C systems.

This role requires a balance of technical depth and team leadership, where you will own backend architecture, drive product delivery, and lead a team building systems at scale.

Key Responsibilities :

- Backend Architecture & Development :

i. Design and build scalable backend systems handling 10K+ requests per minute (RPM)

ii. Develop and optimize transactional systems (payments, orders) and behavioral systems (analytics, personalization)

iii. Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and reliability

- Product & Delivery Ownership :

i. Collaborate closely with Product Managers to define, prioritize, and deliver B2C features

ii. Own end-to-end delivery of backend systems with a strong focus on user impact

iii. Drive architecture decisions aligned with business and product goals

- Team Leadership & Mentorship :

i. Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers

ii. Drive technical excellence, code reviews, and engineering best practices

iii. Manage team performance across 23 appraisal cycles

- Scalability & Operational Excellence :

i. Build systems serving 150K+ daily active users (DAU)

ii. Improve system performance, observability, and reliability

iii. Implement monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Requirements :

- 7+ years of backend engineering experience with 23 years in a Tech Lead/Engineering Manager role

- Strong hands-on experience in Golang (mandatory) & prior experience in consumer tech/product-based companies

- Experience building high-scale systems

- Must have worked on B2C product platforms

- Strong understanding of :

i. Distributed systems & microservices

ii. REST APIs

iii. SQL/NoSQL databases

iv. Cloud platforms to Have :

- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes

- Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
