Position Overview :
The IT Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting the organization’s computer systems, hardware, software, and network infrastructure. This role ensures the smooth operation of IT services, provides technical assistance to end-users, and helps maintain system security and efficiency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems (desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, peripherals).
- Provide technical support for end-users via phone, email, or in person.
- Monitor and maintain network connections , including LAN / WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPNs.
- Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and access control within systems.
- Assist in updating, patching, and securing systems and devices.
- Maintain inventory of IT assets and track equipment lifecycle.
- Support the installation and configuration of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Troubleshoot issues related to network connectivity, system errors, and application malfunctions .
- Perform routine system backups, data recovery, and software updates .
- Coordinate with vendors for IT hardware and service support.
- Document technical processes, user manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
- Support IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, or new technology rollouts.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field .Strong knowledge of Windows / Mac operating systems , MS Office Suite , and network fundamentals .Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, and remote desktop tools .Basic understanding of cybersecurity practices and data protection .Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and customer service abilities.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple technical issues efficiently.Preferred Qualifications :
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) .Experience with cloud systems (Azure, AWS, or Google Workspace).Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.G., Jira, ServiceNow, Freshdesk).Knowledge of hardware imaging, remote management tools , and mobile device management (MDM) systems.
