Job Description
As a Unity 2D Artist, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing 2D art assets and integrating them into Unity. You’ll work closely with designers, developers, and animators to ensure the art complements gameplay and performance requirements.
Responsibilities
Create 2D assets including characters, environments, props, icons, UI, and effects for Unity-based games.
Collaborate with game designers and developers to maintain visual consistency.
Optimize art assets for mobile performance without compromising visual quality.
Prepare and export assets from tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, or Aseprite into Unity.
Implement and adjust sprites, textures, and animations directly inside Unity.
Create sprite sheets, atlases, and animation rigs for smooth in-game motion.
Work with URP / Shader Graph for simple visual effects (optional but a plus).
Ensure assets meet the project’s art style, theme, and technical constraints.
Participate in brainstorming and concept art development.
Requirements
Proven experience as a 2D Artist in game development (portfolio required).
Strong knowledge of Unity 2D pipeline — importing, setting up sprites, animation clips, sorting layers, etc.
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator / Krita / Aseprite.
Understanding of colour theory, lighting, composition, and animation principles.
Ability to create optimised assets for mobile and other platforms.
Basic knowledge of Unity’s Animator and Timeline systems.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Passion for gaming and attention to visual detail.
Nice to Have
Experience with VFX / particle effects in Unity.
Knowledge of Spine or Unity 2D skeletal animation.
Familiarity with URP shaders for 2D lighting.
Experience with UI design / UX for mobile games.
Interest in casual / hyper-casual / arcade-style game visuals.
Monthly Compensation : 40k-50k INR
