Role Overview

• Full-time senior leadership role working directly with the CTO of Aarav Solutions .
• This position is 100% remote , and candidates may be based anywhere in India with complete flexibility to work from their preferred location.
• Requires a unique blend of expert-level hands-on development, data / AI architecture, team leadership, and a strong product-oriented mindset.
• You will architect, build, and scale next-generation Generative AI accelerators and analytics platforms powering products used by millions of users worldwide.
• Not a developer-only role or a just a people management role — demands ownership, engineering leadership, people management skills, and the ability to work with senior stakeholders. Hands-on Coding skills are an absolute MUST. Please DO NOT apply if you are not willing to write code yourself.
• The day-to-day tasks include managing the development team that are developing and maintaining Python applications, reviewing and writing efficient and reusable code, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and troubleshooting and debugging issues.
• The Engineering Director will be responsible for back-end web development, software development, programming, and working with databases. They will focus on Engineering tasks for our Generative AI Accelerators utilising various LLMs.
• Salary is not a constraint for the right candidate.

Responsibilities :

• Expert knowledge of Python; Back-End Web Development and Software Development skills
• Build world-class GenAI accelerators, including LLM fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, vector database pipelines, and multi-agent orchestration layers.
• Work directly with the CTO to convert strategic product ideas into technical blueprints and operational engineering plans.
• Lead cross-functional engineering teams, conduct technical reviews, set coding standards, and mentor senior and junior engineers.
• Drive complex debugging, performance tuning, and reliability engineering for production-grade systems.
• Collaborate closely with product, AI research, and customer-facing teams to align engineering outcomes with business goals.
• Participate in customer demos, architecture workshops, and solutioning sessions as an engineering thought leader.
• Occasional international travel for customer site visits in the US, Canada, and the UK.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 15+ years of hands-on experience in Software engineering, architecting backend systems, data engineering, or analytics architecture.
• Expert command over Python including concurrency, async frameworks, design patterns, performance optimization, and test automation.
• Strong background with :
• LLM training, fine-tuning, vector embeddings, RAG frameworks
• APIs from OpenAI, Google Vertex, Cohere, Anthropic
• PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, TensorFlow / Keras, Scikit-learn
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, define architecture standards, and manage delivery across engineering sprints.
• Proficiency in Python programming language
• PCPP1 – Certified Professional in Python Programming 1 or 2 Certification preferred
• Outstanding communication skills — ability to simplify and articulate complex ideas to executives, engineers, and customers.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, distributed team environment .
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or related discipline. Advanced degrees are a plus.
