Purpose of the job: To define the roles, responsibilities, authority, and competency requirements of the Executive – Purchase (Lithium-Ion Battery) to ensure timely procurement of materials and services in compliance with quality, cost, delivery, and regulatory requirements of the organization’s Quality Management System. Key Accountabilities/Duties & Responsibilities
1. Plan and execute procurement of battery cells, BMS, Busbar, pack components, raw materials, and consumables.
2. Source and evaluate suppliers for lithium-ion battery components including cells, BMS, busbars, connectors, fuses, thermal materials, enclosures, and wiring harness
3. Prepare and release RFQ, PO, and rate contracts as per approval matrix.
4. Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, payment terms, and commercial conditions.
5. Ensure procurement complies with quality standards, technical specifications, and statutory requirements.
6. Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Production for technical and delivery alignment.
7. Ensure on-time material availability to meet production and project schedules.
8. Manage supplier performance including quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
9. Support supplier audits, qualification, and development activities.
10. Handle import/export coordination, logistics, and documentation (where applicable).
11. Track and control inventory levels, lead times, and procurement costs.
12. Support cost-reduction, localization, and alternate sourcing initiatives.
13. Manage non-conforming material issues in coordination with Quality.
14. Maintain procurement records and documentation as per ISO / IATF requirements.
