Inviting applications for the role of Manager, Regulatory, Statutory & External Reporting (STAT / GAAP / IFRS)
In this role, you will be accountable for the end-to-end execution of regulatory, statutory, and external reporting across multiple operating entities within a highly regulated insurance environment. The role requires deep technical understanding of regulatory guidelines, the ability to interpret and operationalize complex requirements issued by regulators such as the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) and Insurance Commissions, and a strong focus on accurate, timely, and compliant delivery under tight reporting timelines and heightened audit scrutiny.
The incumbent will manage high-volume reporting during quarter-end and year-end cycles, operating with significant cross-functional dependencies across Actuarial, Investments, and Finance systems, while maintaining strong governance, control discipline, and execution rigor, and providing executive-level visibility to senior leadership and the C-suite
Responsibilities:
- Execute reporting in strict adherence to FSC, Insurance Commission, and other supervisory authority requirements, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Interpret complex and frequently changing regulatory guidelines and translate them into clear, executable reporting requirements.
- Prepare and review Enhanced Schedules, Quantitative Reporting Templates (QRTs), survey reports, and regulator-mandated disclosures with full audit readiness.
- Manage delivery of high reporting volumes during quarter-end and year-end close cycles within compressed timelines.
- Oversee data validation, reconciliations, and variance analysis, managing dependencies across Actuarial, Investment, Reinsurance, and Finance systems.
- Lead interactions with external auditors, regulators, and internal assurance teams, ensuring timely resolution of queries and observations.
- Maintain robust control frameworks, audit trails, and documentation standards across the reporting lifecycle.
- Prepare executive-level dashboards, regulatory summaries, and status updates for senior leadership and the C-suite.
- Lead and develop a team size of 4–5 regulatory/statutory reporting professionals, driving a culture of execution excellence, accuracy, and accountability.
- Drive process optimization, standardization, and automation initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency and control maturity.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA.
- Strong experience in Regulatory, Statutory, and External Reporting within highly regulated insurance or financial services environments
Critical Technical & Functional Skills:
- Proven expertise in regulatory and statutory reporting requirements, including FSC and Insurance Commission frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Enhanced Schedules, QRTs, and regulatory surveys.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (complex models and validations), VBA/macros, workflow automation, MS Access, and Power BI.
- Experience with enterprise finance and reporting platforms such as SAP (ERP& Source system Automation), Tableau, Alteryx, Oracle Financials, BlackLine, Workflow trackers and Workiva.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate and timely reporting under tight deadlines with high compliance and audit sensitivity
