Senior Financial Reporting Analyst

Job Purpose

• To perform the centralized accounting functions relating to MB Subsidiaries (Osool, Mashreq Securities, Mashreq Capital, MIT, Invictus, Shorouq, Pak DB and COEs) and related MIS.
• To perform accounting and control functions for UAE branches in an efficient and timely manner such that it conforms to the requirements of International Financial Reporting Standards, regulatory authorities and Bank’s Accounting Policies.
• Responsible for ensuring integrity of accounting and MIS, Regulatory Compliance, Expense Control, Completion for special projects undertaken from time to time and to ensure all sundries are settled in accordance with the ADM.

Key Result Areas

1) Ensure recording of transactions and reporting for UAE & Subsidiaries are in conformity with International Financial Reporting Standards and Bank’s Accounting Policies.

2) Execute maker-level activities within the Core Flexcube system, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, review parameter changes, and general ledger operations.

3) Finalization of Annual\Quarterly Financial Accounts for subsidiaries as per International Financial Reporting standards in liaison with external auditors, their audit, submission to respective regulatory authorities.

4) Manage recording of Staff and Occupation/Administrative expense relating to all Subsidiaries ensuring accurate recording in line with APPM.

5) Prepare and review outstanding items in Sundries Accounts of all subsidiaries and follow up and escalate for settlement / write off instructions / approvals in line with APPM for subsidiaries and take corrective action to safe guard against potential losses.

6) Investigate deviation in the GL and subsidiary accounts and arrange rectification by the concerned unit to keep the books of accounts balanced

7) Regularly monitor nostro/mirror statements of all subsidiaries accounts and to investigate outstanding items and take corrective actions and follow up with respective departments for their clearance.

8) To review month end reports related to all subsidiaries and ensure the correctness of data at month.

9) Continuous review of areas requiring automation for generating MIS in an efficient and timely manner and carrying out testing for new or upgraded systems.

10) Update existing SOP and preparation for new and changed process of all subsidiaries.

11) Ensure and periodically update of Services Level agreement with all stake holders.

12) Other miscellaneous functions include checking of Online and EJ report, coordination in year-end processes, with other departments and with external Auditors.

13) Reviews consolidated Sundry Accounts reports from all UAE Branches and Back offices (TOC, CPC, FTC, FID and Credit Ops) and submit to Operations Division for their action in line with APPM for UAE Operations.

14) To perform monthly variance analysis for all UAE Branches and Subsidiaries and review reverse balances and mismatch balances of UAE branches and Subsidiaries and circulate to concerned unit or department.

15) To review SOC of UAE branches at month end arrange rectifications of abnormal balances if any.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

The incumbent should be a Chartered Accountant with more than 5 years of work experience in the field of Accounting & Management reporting in computerized, environment, with hands-on experience with Flexcube Core Banking systsem. The incumbent should have excellent inter personal and written / spoken communication skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Certifications - CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification

Experience - 5 years in banking operations or financial reporting

System Knowledge- Hands-on experience with Flexcube Core Banking System

Technical Skills- Familiarity with SQL, Oracle, and reconciliation tools

Compliance Awareness - Working knowledge of AML, KYC, ADM, and regulatory reporting standards

Soft Skills - Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
