Job descriptionResponsibilities - Develop and optimize new and existing manufacturing processes for scalability, repeatability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. - Facilitate technology transfer from lab/pilot scale to full production, ensuring robust implementation. - Serve as the primary liaison between R&D, production, and shop floor personnel, translating technical requirements and facilitating process improvements. - Monitor, analyze, and report on process performance, quality metrics, and yields; recommend and implement improvements. - Lead and participate in troubleshooting operational or technical issues on the shop floor; drive problem-solving efforts. - Create and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, FG specifications and work instructions to ensure clarity and compliance. - Analyse raw material quality & performance against batch to batch & seasonal variations & create a data bank to ensure consistency in FG. - Train operators and technical staff on new processes, tools, and technologies introduced to the shop floor. - Ensure adherence to quality, environmental, and safety regulations within all process operations. - Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies. Qualifications - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in food technology / food science/ food engineering or related field. - 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in process engineering, technology transfer, or manufacturing operations; experience in R&D-to-production roles is desirable with Packaging understanding. - Experience of existing technologies like Thermal Processing, Frozen formed Foods, Hot fill, Sauces & Emulsion, Seasonings, Raw Material Handling, SQA, Industrial Engineering (Min 2 of our existing lines). - Proficiency with process analysis/statistics software (e.g., Minitab, JMP, Excel) and exposure to digital manufacturing systems is desired. - Professional certification in Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), or similar frameworks (preferred). Required Skills - Technical and Process Knowledge: Deep understanding of manufacturing process engineering, equipment, and technology relevant to the industry. - Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills; adept at using data and statistical methods. (6-sigma tools) - Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to interact with diverse teams (R&D, production, shop floor, Supply and Equipment suppliers). - Project Management: Effective at managing projects, including timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional coordination. - Hands-On Approach: Comfortable working on the shop floor and directly engaging with the processes and people. - Adaptability: Flexible to handle rapidly changing technologies or priorities in a dynamic production environment and keep updating to latest technological developments. - Invest time upgrading the processes to make plant and product more sustainable. Preferred Skills - Physical presence on the shop floor for a significant portion of work hours – More than 70 – 80 % of the time. - A willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as needed to support production and technology transfer activities. - Strong commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. - Proven record of delivering process improvements, solving production problems, and driving cross-departmental collaboration. - Excellent organizational skills, self-motivation, and ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
