Senior Data Analyst – Experimentation CoE.
Experience: 6–9 Years.
Team: Experimentation Center of Excellence.
Role Summary:
The Senior Data Analyst will drive experiment design, measurement, and insight generation for Albertsons’ digital platforms and omnichannel retail ecosystem. This role will lead A/B test analysis, statistical validation, and business impact storytelling for ecommerce initiatives, with optional exposure to in-store experimentation.
This individual will serve as a strategic partner to Product, Marketing, Digital, Data Sciences and Engineering teams to ensure experiments are statistically sound, actionable, and aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experiment Design & Analysis (Digital – Mandatory). - Design, analyze, and interpret A/B and multivariate experiments. - Define primary, secondary, and guardrail metrics. - Conduct statistical testing (t-tests, chi-square, regression-based approaches). - Perform sample size estimation and power calculations. - Identify and diagnose experiment risks (sample ratio mismatch, novelty effects, interaction effects).
Ecommerce Analytics:
- Analyze customer journey and funnel performance (browse cart checkout order). - Evaluate impact of pricing, promotions, personalization, and UX changes. - Partner with digital product teams to prioritize high-impact experiments. - Data Analysis & Insights. - Write complex SQL queries for behavioral and transactional data analysis. - Use Python for advanced analytics and experiment evaluation. - Develop dashboards and analytical views to monitor experiment performance. - Translate analytical findings into actionable business recommendations.
In-Store Experimentation (Preferred, Optional):
- Analyze store-level tests (pricing, merchandising, promotions). - Support quasi-experimental designs where randomized tests are not feasible. - Handle clustered/store-level data structures.
Required Qualifications:
- 6–9 years of experience in Data Analytics. - Strong SQL skills (complex joins, aggregations, performance optimization). - Strong Python experience (pandas, statistical libraries). - Experience in Cloud environments (GCP preferred). - Mandatory: Experience running and analyzing digital A/B experiments. - Experience in ecommerce analytics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with experimentation platforms (Optimizely, Adobe Target, in-house tools). - Familiarity with causal inference techniques. - Exposure to retail analytics. - Experience with BI/visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI). - Strong stakeholder management and storytelling skills.
