Backend Engineering Manager - Mutual Fund Platform

About the Role :

We are looking for an Engineering Manager - Mutual Fund Platforms (Backend) to lead the architecture, development, and scaling of backend systems supporting Mutual Fund operations, transactions, and reporting. This role will own platforms that are central to fund lifecycle management, transaction processing, compliance, and data integrity.

You will work closely with Product, Compliance, Operations, and Frontend teams to build secure, scalable, and high-availability backend systems, while leading and mentoring high-performing engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will have consistent growth in software engineering roles in consumer Internet or SaaS companies, with increasing ownership in software delivery and people management year on year.

Key Responsibilities :

- Own end-to-end backend architecture and delivery for Mutual Fund platforms

- Design scalable microservices and APIs supporting fund transactions and reporting

- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and system reliability

- Collaborate with Product, Compliance, Operations, and Frontend teams

- Drive best practices in backend engineering, system design, and cloud architecture

- Lead, mentor, and scale backend engineering teams

- Take accountability for delivery timelines, platform stability, and business KPIs

What We Look For :

- 10 years of experience in backend software engineering with 3+ years in engineering leadership roles

- Strong experience designing and scaling financial or transaction-based systems

- Proven expertise in backend architecture, microservices, and API design

- Exposure to Mutual Fund, asset management, or BFSI platforms preferred

- Strong stakeholder management and team leadership skills

- Strong understanding of computer science concepts, data structures, and algorithms.

- Excellent communication skills and a strong inclination towards people growth, team development, and a growth mindset required to build high-performance engineering teams.
