Partner – Sector Expert (Capital Goods & Industrial Equipment Manufacturing) .
The Role
This is a
part-time, strategic, non-operational
role for a senior leader from the capital goods and industrial equipment ecosystem who wants to: Stay at the centre of India’s capex and industrial growth story without taking a full-time corporate role Work directly with promoters and CXOs on leadership and growth decisions in project-heavy, engineering-led businesses Monetize sector insight, relationships, and judgment in a focused, founder-led boutique platform The selected Partner will work closely with BGR’s Founder & CEO and the internal research team.
Key Responsibilities Act as a sector face for BGR in
Capital Goods & Industrial Equipment Manufacturing
(e.g., industrial machinery, process equipment, material handling, construction/infrastructure equipment, engineering systems) Open doors and make warm introductions to promoters, MDs, CEOs, BU Heads, Project Directors, and CHROs Co-shape critical mandates such as MD, CEO, COO, Business/BU Head, Project Head, Country Head, and key functional leadership roles (Manufacturing, Projects, Supply Chain, Service & Aftermarket) Bring practical sector insight into role design, candidate evaluation, and final selection, especially around project cycles, order books, capex, and export ambitions Participate in selected client meetings, reviews, and strategic discussions Help conceptualize sector-specific offerings such as succession planning for project-centric organizations, leadership for new plants/greenfield facilities, and interim or fractional leadership solutions This is not a traditional sales or delivery role. It is a relationship, judgment, and sector credibility role.
Ideal Profile
This role is best suited for a senior professional who has: 15–25+ years in capital goods, industrial equipment, engineering products, or related manufacturing and project businesses Experience as MD, CEO, COO, Business/BU Head, P&L Head, Project Director, or senior functional leader in this ecosystem Strong credibility with promoters, CXOs, and senior decision-makers in the capital goods and industrial equipment space Deep understanding of project cycles, manufacturing, supply chain, service/aftermarket, and international markets A preference for a sharp, founder-led, high-trust platform over a large generic consulting setup Bandwidth for approximately
8–12 hours per month
on a flexible basis Prior executive search experience is not required. Sector depth, credibility, and leadership judgment matter more.
