ABOUT THE ROLE
Xtep India is setting up its domestic apparel and footwear production from scratch. The Sourcing Associate will be responsible for building the vendor ecosystem, managing factory operations, sourcing raw materials, and ensuring quality across the entire production cycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Set up and manage the end-to-end production process - from design handoff and sampling to bulk production and dispatch.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard factories and raw-material vendors across India.
• Handle sourcing of fabrics, trims, soles, components, and packaging from multiple supplier partners.
• Manage multiple factories simultaneously; track timelines, costs, and delivery schedules.
• Maintain quality standards at every production stage - incoming material, in-line checks, and final inspections.
• Implement production SOPs, policies, and best practices for the India production line.
• Coordinate with Design, Merchandise, Retail Operations, and Marketing teams to align production with business timelines.
• Participate in cross-functional decision-making by providing production feasibility, costing, and lead-time inputs.
• Conduct factory audits and vendor capability assessments.
• Travel frequently to manufacturing hubs across India (Tirupur, Ludhiana, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, etc.).
REQUIREMENTS
• 3–6 years of experience in apparel/footwear production, sourcing, or supply chain.
• Hands-on knowledge of the full production cycle - design to final product.
• Experience handling multiple factories and vendor relationships.
• Strong understanding of raw materials used in apparel and footwear manufacturing.
• Good negotiation, costing, and vendor management skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel); familiarity with ERP tools is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Technology, Textile Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Willingness to travel extensively (40–50%).
• Self-driven with an ability to build processes from the ground up.
