Job Description – Lead Data Scientist / AI Engineer (GenAI / LLM / RAG) Role Title: Lead Data Scientist / AI Engineer – GenAI (LLM, RAG, AI Evaluation) Location: Bangalore (Onsite) Employment Type: Full-time Experience Range: 9+ Years (Relevant: 6+ Years in AI/ML / GenAI) Notice Period: Immediate to 30 Days Target Talent Pool - Institutes: IIT / NIT / IISc (Mandatory preference) - Organizations: Tier-1 Product Companies (Google, Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, etc.) - Strong exposure to high-scale production AI systems Role Summary We are looking for a high-caliber Data Scientist / AI Engineer to lead the design and deployment of next-generation AI systems powered by LLMs and RAG architectures. The role involves building production-grade Generative AI solutions, defining evaluation frameworks, and working on agentic AI systems for enterprise-scale applications. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and research teams to deliver cutting-edge AI solutions with measurable business impact. Key Responsibilities AI/ML & GenAI Development - Design and develop LLM-powered applications (chatbots, copilots, AI assistants) - Build and optimize RAG pipelines using vector databases and embeddings - Work on prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and model optimization - Develop agentic AI systems with multi-step reasoning and tool usage Architecture & System Design - Architect end-to-end GenAI solutions including ingestion, retrieval, and inference layers - Integrate LLMs with enterprise systems via APIs and microservices - Ensure scalability, reliability, and low-latency AI systems AI Evaluation & Governance - Design evaluation frameworks for LLM outputs (accuracy, hallucination, safety) - Implement AI guardrails, monitoring, and observability - Establish benchmarks and continuous improvement pipelines Data & Engineering - Build and maintain data pipelines for structured/unstructured data - Work with vector DBs (Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, Chroma) - Deploy models using MLOps frameworks and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) Leadership & Collaboration - Lead and mentor Data Scientists / ML Engineers - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Business) - Drive AI roadmap and innovation strategy Required Skills & Qualifications Core Technical Skills - Strong experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Deep Learning - Hands-on with LLMs (GPT, LLaMA, Claude, Gemini, etc.) - Expertise in RAG architecture, embeddings, vector search - Strong programming in Python (NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch/TensorFlow) - Experience with LangChain / LlamaIndex / LangGraph - Knowledge of model evaluation, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning Platform & Tools - Cloud: AWS / GCP / Azure - Databases: SQL, NoSQL, Vector DBs - MLOps: MLflow, Weights & Biases, Kubeflow - Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes Education - B.Tech / M.Tech / PhD from IIT / NIT / IISc (preferred) - Specialization in Computer Science / AI / Data Science Preferred Qualifications - Experience working in FAANG / Tier-1 product companies - Exposure to Agentic AI / Multi-agent systems - Experience in LLM evaluation, safety, and governance frameworks - Contributions to research papers / patents / open-source AI projects Key Success Metrics - Performance and accuracy of AI models - Production deployment and scalability of GenAI solutions - Reduction in hallucination and improved model reliability - Business impact delivered via AI-driven solutions
