Global Indirect Category Manager - Insurance & Office Equipment

What You Can Expect

The primary responsibilities of the Procurement Category Manager are to manage end-to-end procurement activities for their category and lead cross-functional supplier qualifications for Insurance & Office Supplies. They will be responsible for securing total cost of ownership reductions for their assigned category, define global strategy, and work with other counterparts globally to execute the regional strategies.

Work Location: Bangalore (preferred; open to relocation if required)
Work Mode: Hybrid (3 Days in office)

How You'll Create Impact

• End-to-end accountability for defining the category and supplier strategy with stakeholders and delivering year-over-year cost reduction within their category
• Strategic interface with suppliers and accountable for building strong and strategic supplier relationships
• Understand supplier market dynamics/intelligence and use it as input into the strategy
• Monitor and report compliance to Source-to-Pay process for their category/suppliers
• Drive supplier selection according to strategy, develop supplier base, and identify new suppliers
• Ensure alignment, anticipate changes, and drive activities based on supply market changes and broader company/functional strategy
• Lead contract and price negotiations withs suppliers
• Create and update supplier list according to category strategy
• Work closely with key stakeholders, member organizations and corporate functions to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans.
• Identify and define procurement best practices both within and external to Zimmer Biomet and ensure that those best practices are implemented in their category

What Makes You Stand Out

• 5+ years of track record in Strategic Procurement, ideally in Insurance & Office Supplies.
• Ability to develop high impact procurement strategies.
• Previous experience with assigned category preferred.

• Supplier relationship and management skills.

Your Background

Required Skills

• End‑to‑end responsibility for managing category spend, development and execution of procurement strategies, supplier relationship ownership, negotiation, cost analysis, internal stakeholder management, and ownership of the RFP process.
• The role requires the ability to act as a change agent, strong understanding of diverse market types, and foundational knowledge adaptable to new geographies.
• Experience in global procurement of insurance and office equipment is essential, including enterprise‑level insurance and office supplies.
• End‑to‑end sourcing lifecycle expertise, including contract and vendor management, is required, along with strong proficiency in MS Office especially Excel for analytical and reporting purposes.

Desired Skills

• Specialized Procurement or related certification or training are preferred.
• Lean and/or Six Sigma certification or training are preferred.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Experience Range: 5+ Years.
• Bachelor’s Degree in any related discipline is required.
