Junior AI Software Engineers & AI Engineer Interns
StartupCrafters | Hyderabad, India & Remote (India) Experience: 0-2 years | Internships Open
About StartupCrafters
StartupCrafters is a global deep-tech lab and venture studio — the Venture Studio & Venture Capital arm of RB DesignTech, based in Los Angeles, California. 25 years of innovation. 450+ clients across India, UK, Europe, and the US. 45 startups built across AI, Robotics, and Blockchain.
We don't make pitch decks about the future — we build it and ship it.
Build. Launch. Scale. That's not a tagline — that's every week here.
Why This Isn't Your Typical Job
If you've been looking for a role where you actually get to build with the latest AI.
We're working on things that are genuinely at the frontier — local LLMs running on custom hardware, multi-agent orchestration, MCP servers, AI-powered tools and skills, generative media pipelines, IoT integrations, and electro-mechanical devices controlled by intelligent agents. And we obsess over design and UX — because the most powerful tech is useless if it doesn't feel effortless to use. The projects are exciting, the tech is cutting-edge, and you'll learn something new every single day.
Here's what makes this place different:
- Flat culture, fast decisions. Good ideas get heard no matter who you are. If your approach is solid, you'll get the green light to run with it — quickly.
- Room to experiment. Want to try a new model? An unconventional architecture? A different approach? We encourage it. Thoughtful experimentation is how we stay ahead.
- Your voice matters. Interns work alongside the founders. Your perspective counts from day one — if your idea is stronger, we'll go with it.
- Learn at 10x speed. You'll work across more technologies in 3 months here than most engineers touch in 3 years at a large company. AI, IoT, robotics, blockchain, VFX, product design, UX — it's all on the table.
- Direct contribution, real impact. Everything you build goes into real products used by real people. No busy work, no throwaway tasks.
- Growth and recognition. Great work gets noticed. We celebrate wins, invest in your growth, and make sure your contributions are visible.
What You'll Actually Do
- Build agentic workflows and multi-agent orchestration systems
- Develop custom LLM applications, RAG pipelines, and tool-use architectures
- Integrate and experiment with open-source models (Qwen, LLaMA, DeepSeek, Mistral, Gemma)
- Create AI-powered developer tools, automation systems, and MCP servers
- Work with video/image generation APIs and pipelines (Kling, Runway, Luma, Veo)
- Build across domains — AI, IoT, electro-mechanical devices, and advanced hardware integrations
- Collaborate on product design, UX flows, and user experience — engineers here don't just write code, they shape the product
- Move fast — prototypes in days, production-ready features in weeks
Who You Are
- You've built something real with AI — a project, a tool, a bot, an agent, anything that works. Show us.
- Comfortable with Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Rust. Bonus if you vibe-code in Cursor, Claude Code, or Windsurf.
- Familiar with the current AI stack: agentic frameworks, MCP servers, tools and skills, Ollama, HuggingFace, vector databases
- You understand how LLMs actually work — tokens, context windows, tool calling, structured output — not just API wrappers
- Self-taught is a superpower here. We care about what you've built, not which college you went to.
- You communicate clearly — you can explain what you're building to someone non-technical, and hold your own in an architecture discussion
- Resourceful problem-solver — you dig into docs, source code, and communities to find answers, and you ask smart questions when you need help
Bonus Points
- Active GitHub with AI/ML projects or open-source contributions
- Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol), tool calling, skills, or building agent systems
- Built something in a hackathon, shipped a side project, or have a portfolio that punches well above your experience level
- Comfortable with local model deployment (Ollama, vLLM, llama.cpp)
- Active in AI communities — Discord servers, open-source repos, Twitter/X, technical blogs, YouTube channels
- Any experience with IoT, hardware, robotics, or embedded systems is a big plus
What We're NOT Looking For
- Engineers who wait to be told what to do instead of taking initiative
- People who only know one framework and aren't curious enough to explore others
- Anyone who thinks "AI experience" means completing an online certificate and updating their headline
Details
- Location: Hyderabad, India (hybrid) or Remote (India only)
- Type: Full-time or Internship (3-6 months, with a genuine path to full-time)
- Compensation: Competitive for early-stage + equity for full-time hires
- Perks: Access to cutting-edge hardware, frontier AI tools, learning opportunities, and a team that's genuinely passionate about what we're building
How to Apply
- One recent AI project you've built (GitHub link, demo, video, or short write-up)
- Your favourite AI tool or model right now, and what you're building with it
- What excites you most about working at the intersection of AI and deep-tech
Just show us what you've built and what gets you excited.
