Our client is a globally recognised, multidisciplinary design practice delivering projects across architecture, interiors, urban design, and masterplanning.
With an established presence in India, the studio is supported by a strong leadership structure and a high-quality local team. The business is now looking to appoint a senior leader to build on this foundation and drive the next phase of growth.
Role Overview:
This is a senior, market-facing leadership role responsible for leading the India studio both externally and internally.
The successful candidate will act as the figurehead for the office, building and maintaining client relationships, securing new work, and leading an established team to deliver high-quality design.
The role requires a balance of business development, leadership, and commercial awareness, alongside a strong understanding of design quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Studio Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team.
- Provide clear direction and foster a collaborative, design-led studio culture.
- Work closely with existing leadership, including the Head of Architecture and Head of Interior Design.
Business Development & Client Engagement:
- Act as the primary market-facing representative for the studio.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Identify and secure new opportunities with high-quality clients.
- Represent the practice within the wider market and industry.
Commercial & Strategic Oversight:
- Demonstrate strong commercial judgement.
- Identify the right opportunities aligned with the studio’s strengths.
- Ensure a balance between design excellence and business performance.
Design Positioning:
- Champion high-quality design outcomes.
- Position the studio as a multidisciplinary practice capable of delivering integrated “place-making” solutions across architecture, landscape, interiors, and masterplanning.
Candidate Profile:
Experience & Background:
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within architecture or design practice.
- Background in architecture, urban design, or a related discipline.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary environments.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong business development and client relationship skills.
- Charismatic and credible leader, able to represent the studio externally.
- Experience operating in relationship-driven markets.
- Commercially astute, with the ability to identify high-quality opportunities.
- Ability to lead and inspire teams while maintaining design standards.
