About the Role
We are building a data-driven e-commerce marketplace and are looking for a Data Analyst who can own data across business, product, and operations. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in SQL, data visualization, and data pipeline management, along with a solid understanding of e-commerce business models. You will not just analyze data but also help build scalable data systems, optimize query performance, and enable AI-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Write complex and optimized MySQL queries to extract, analyze, and transform large datasets
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI for business, product, and ops teams
- Design and manage data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to ensure clean, reliable, and timely data availability
- Work closely with product, business, and tech teams to translate business problems into data solutions
- Analyze key metrics across customer, seller, orders, retention, pricing, and supply-demand dynamics
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems
- Optimize query performance and response time for large-scale datasets
- Create and maintain data documentation, schemas, and table structures
AI & Advanced Analytics Responsibilities
- Leverage AI tools to automate reporting, anomaly detection, and insights generation
- Work on predictive analysis use cases (demand forecasting, churn, pricing optimization, etc.)
- Enable self-serve analytics by building smarter data models and semantic layers
- Collaborate on integrating AI-driven data pipelines and workflows
Must-Have Experience:
- 3–4 years of experience as a Data Analyst , preferably in an e-commerce or marketplace setup (must-have)
- Strong hands-on experience with MySQL (advanced queries, joins, window functions, optimization)
- Proficiency in Power BI (or similar visualization tools)
- Experience in building and managing data pipelines (ETL/ELT processes)
- Strong understanding of data structures, table design, and database architecture
- Deep understanding of query optimization and performance tuning
- Familiarity with e-commerce metrics and business flows (orders, GMV, CAC, retention, seller metrics, etc.)
- Exposure to AI/ML tools or data automation frameworks
Good to Have
- Experience with Python / scripting for data analysis
- Exposure to cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, etc.)
- Experience working with real-time or near real-time data systems
- Understanding of A/B testing and experimentation frameworks
