Responsibilities
Logistics Operations & Planning :
- Implement processes and controls to efficiently manage material flows (reception, put-away, kitting, shipping) while maintaining alignment between physical and system flows.
- Develop, contract, and onboard reputed service partners including carriers, 3PLs, CHAs, and freight forwarders.
- Monitor and analyse ocean freight, fuel, storage, detention, demurrage costs, and take actions to mitigate impact.
- Track budget vs. actual sales and provide periodic updates to management.
- Coordinate with site logistics, CSR, and sales teams for dispatch schedules and clearances.
- Ensure container bookings, trailer arrangements, and customs clearance for exports / imports. Support domestic vehicle placements if required.
- Address logistics issues from site reviews, identify root causes, and follow up on corrective / preventive actions.
- Track delivery times, transport costs, and operational efficiency.
- Manage customer complaints related to logistics operations (damage, pilferage, accidents), including RC / CAPA, claims settlement, and reverse logistics.
- Ensure adherence to quarantine policies and resolution of non-conformities.
- Maintain and analyze metrics (OTDIF, DOH, SLOB, delivery performance) to drive functional improvements.
- Ensure timely payments to service providers.
- Support digital transformation initiatives (TMS, WMS, Lighthouse, dashboards, RPA for export documentation) for optimal utilization.
- Participate in annual logistics and warehouse budgeting exercises.
- Conduct vendor performance evaluations quarterly and review results with partners.
- Support factory expansion and commissioning projects through cross-functional collaboration.
- Review, redesign, and simplify standard operating procedures as per evolving business needs.
- Support network optimization studies and build logistics / warehousing models to reduce costs, lead times, and improve service.
- Contribute to carbon emission reduction initiatives for sustainability.
- SAP knowledge is preferred.
