Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in New Delhi for an English Editor. The English Editor will be responsible for proofreading and editing manuscripts, ensuring grammatical and linguistic accuracy, and maintaining high editorial standards. The role also involves coordinating with writers and translators, providing constructive feedback, and ensuring adherence to style guides and publishing guidelines.

Primary responsibilities:

• To understand the essence behind each product.
• To ensure timely, error-free and cost-effective publication of books by handling projects from the manuscript stage to the final books.
• To ensure completion of assigned editorial tasks within agreed schedules
• To assist in planning and managing copy editing schedules of assigned tasks
• To ensure the publication of error-free, high-quality books
• To ensure efficient and professional communication with authors

Candidate Specification:

• Post Graduate in English/Diploma Certificate Course in Publishing
• 3-5 years of experience working with a brand with a Pan-India presence
• Conversant with the basics of editing
• Experience in publishing K-12 books
• Knowledge of various typesetting and designing programs, such as PageMaker, Photoshop, and InDesign
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Effective organisational skills
• Performing under strict deadlines
• Compensation – At par with industry standards
• Working days: 5 days a week
