Full Stack Engineer

Job Overview

We're seeking a Full Stack Developer with expertise in Node.js (TypeScript) and React to work closely with our lead for application modernization efforts. You'll modernize legacy systems by incrementally replacing components with new services built on Node.js and React, ensuring zero downtime for healthcare providers and patients. Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, and familiarity with NestJS, Ruby on Rails, or C#, will help you bridge legacy and modern systems during this transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Application Modernization (Strangler Pattern):

• Work with the workstream lead for the incremental migration of 100+ legacy applications to a modern Node.js (TypeScript) backend and React frontend.

• Design and implement modular services to 'strangle' legacy components, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.

• Collaborate with architects to define migration roadmaps, prioritize high-impact modules, and maintain HIPAA compliance. Backend Development:

• Build scalable, secure APIs and microservices with Node.js and TypeScript, prioritizing performance for healthcare workflows.

• Integrate with EHR/EMR systems, pharmacy networks, and third-party healthcare APIs.

• Optimize Azure cloud resources (Blob Storage) for HIPAA-compliant data handling.

Required Experience

• 7+ years of full stack development experience, with 5+ years in Node.js (TypeScript) and React.

• Proven track record modernizing large-scale applications using the Strangler Pattern or similar incremental migration strategies.

• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, and secure coding practices for healthcare.

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Preferred Qualification:

• Background in healthcare technology, life sciences, or regulated industries (HIPAA, GDPR).

• Familiarity with NestJS, Ruby on Rails, or C#.

• Knowledge of FHIR standards or healthcare interoperability frameworks
