Role Description:

The Design Engineer – Electrical will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and validating electrical design drawings and documentation in alignment with project specifications, applicable standards, and client requirements. The role requires active coordination with internal teams, consultants, and clients to ensure timely delivery of accurate design solutions. The incumbent will also support site activities, technical evaluations, and ensure smooth transition from design to execution phases.

Key Responsibility Area :

• Study and analyse tender drawings and Good for Construction (GFC) drawings to understand project requirements and design scope.
• Prepare and review detailed shop drawings, including lighting layouts, power layouts, cable tray layouts, earthing layouts, equipment layouts, and main single line diagrams (SLDs).
• Perform essential electrical calculations such as short circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, earthing calculations, and load list preparation.
• Undertake equipment sizing and selection for components including transformers, diesel generators, UPS systems, inverters, cables, cable trays, and raceways.
• Ensure timely submission of design drawings and obtain necessary approvals from consultants and clients.
• Conduct site visits for technical assessment, validation of design requirements, and coordination with the site execution team.
• Participate in meetings with clients and consultants to present design solutions, address queries, and secure required approvals.
• Prepare technical datasheets and Guaranteed Technical Particulars (GTPs), and perform technical evaluations for equipment and material approvals.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the project scope and assume responsibility for delivering all assigned design activities within the required specifications and timelines.
• Extract material quantities from approved drawings to support estimation, planning, and procurement processes.

Required Skills :

• In-depth knowledge of applicable electrical design codes, standards, and industry practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant electrical design software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in electrical load analysis and system sizing.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
