ENFOR A/S is a world leading provider of forecasting and optimization solutions for the evolving energy industry. Our solutions utilize advanced machine learning and applied statistics to address weather-driven energy transition issues. We serve energy companies on six continents in more than 35 countries.

Our services include forecasting of renewable energy production (from wind, solar, battery and hydro), which is used by energy traders, big international energy companies and system operators all over the world. In addition, we also offer electricity consumption and price forecasts.

As we are currently experiencing an increase in demand for our services, we are looking to hire Data Engineers to help implement and operate the data streams of power forecasting solutions for our clients. ENFOR A/S provides a stable, growing environment that values and invests in its employees to become world-leading experts in data manipulation and operations of systems.

Areas of responsibility

  • Point of contact with clients about data integration, formatting and communication issues.
  • Preparation of historic input data to be used for the forecast solutions. That involves: collection of historic time series and master data from clients, transformation and assimilation into standard formats; transformation of final forecast product into the desired export format for clients; and preparation of historic weather forecast to be used as an input to the forecasting models.
  • Design, implementation and maintenance of operational data pipelines of live weather forecast data, customer data and forecast deliveries.
  • Collaborate with energy forecast consultants and other stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure data availability.
  • Daily operational monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting of the internal and external data transfer.
  • Continuously help us improve processes and tools for improving our data pipelines, as well as well as the quality assurance of data in and output.
  • Participation on the customer 24/7 emergency support of the forecast services.

The ideal candidate

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering or a similar field.
  • Experienced in computer programming and knowledge about languages such as R, Python and Bash, as well as git for version control.
  • Experience with setting up and troubleshooting live data transfer through web APIs and (S)FTP.
  • Experience dealing with large data sets, especially time series data.
  • Experience with maintenance of operational systems ensuring robustness, reliability and consistency.
  • Good written and communication skills to collaborate with customers and with cross-functional teams within ENFOR.
  • Good organization or project management skills. Demonstrated ability to manage working on multiple projects at the same time without losing track of important details.
  • Fluency in English.
