'Nickel Business' a unit of Vedanta Limited, is India's sole producer of battery-grade Nickel Sulphate. The operations set in Goa have a capacity of 7.5 KTPA of Nickel & Cobalt along with by-products such as Manganese Sulphate & Sodium Sulphate. With a focus on the current EV transformation for the green future, we are fully geared up to untap the full potential of India's Nickel arena to meet the ever-rising demand for Nickel and drive the country's EV transformation through our quality certified products.

The Opportunity:

• Strategic Leadership: Lead the sourcing function with a focus on optimizing procurement and ensuring alignment with business priorities.
• Global Sourcing: Identify and develop reliable MHP (Mixed Hydroxide Precipitate) sources in overseas markets to secure supply continuity.
• Vendor Management: Oversee and strengthen relationships with existing vendors to ensure consistent quality and performance.
• Raw Material Procurement: Procure raw materials as per BP (Business Plan) consumption requirements and explore alternative raw materials in line with approved plans.
• Long-Term Contracts: Establish and negotiate long-term sourcing agreements to ensure supply stability and price competitiveness.
• Governance & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to sourcing policies, ensuring transparency, ethical practices, and compliance with corporate standards.
• Digital & Technology Enablement: Leverage technology and digital tools to streamline procurement operations and improve efficiency.
• Cost Optimization: Drive cost savings through logistics optimization, strategic sourcing, and data-driven procurement decisions.
• Strategy & Risk Management: Formulate sourcing strategies, assess market, and supply chain risks, and refine policies to enhance operational agility.
• Leadership Development: Mentor and develop future sourcing leaders to build a strong internal talent pipeline.
• Automation & Best Practices: Implement automation initiatives and benchmark against global best practices, market trends, and analytics to continuously improve sourcing efficiency.

The Successful Applicant

• The ideal candidate be an engineer with an MBA and having minimum 8-10 years of experience in the Sourcing function (international sourcing experience is preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive process improvements.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to lead innovation and technical excellence.
