Job Description Key Responsibilities1. Industrial Relations & Union Management - Manage all IR matters for the plant, ensuring stable and positive labour relations. - Lead discussions with union representatives (where applicable) and maintain constructive engagement channels. - Oversee long‑term settlement planning, negotiations, and execution. - Handle disciplinary actions, grievances, conciliation processes, and dispute resolution. - Ensure compliance with labour legislation, statutory returns, and audit requirements. 2. Plant HR Operations - Oversee day‑to‑day HR operations including manpower planning, attendance, shift operations, payroll inputs, and statutory documentation. - Drive adherence to HR policies at the plant level. - Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and safety teams to ensure seamless plant functioning. 3. Talent Acquisition & Capability Building - Lead hiring for technical, supervisory, and frontline roles based on plant requirements. - Drive skill‑building, reskilling, and functional capability development for plant employees. - Implement training calendars and ensure compliance to skill‑matrix requirements. 4. Employee Engagement & Culture Management - Build engagement programs tailored to blue‑collar and plant‑level teams. - Strengthen communication frameworks and worker-management connect. - Promote a culture of discipline, productivity, safety, and continuous improvement. 5. Compliance & Governance - Ensure full adherence to all plant‑related compliances under the Factories Act, labour laws, and state regulations. - Maintain strong documentation for audits, internal reviews, and statutory inspections. - Lead safety awareness, health & wellness initiatives in partnership with EHS teams. The Successful Applicant A successful Plant HR should have:Must‑Have - 10+ years of core Plant HR and IR experience. - Proven experience in B2B manufacturing / energy / power / heavy engineering / industrial sectors. - Strong exposure to blue‑collar workforce engagement and plant HR systems. - Hands‑on experience in IR: union interactions, settlements, grievance handling, disciplinary processes. Good‑to‑Have - Experience managing unionised workforce environments. - Involvement in long‑term settlements or multi‑year wage agreements. - Understanding of modern manufacturing practices (lean, TPM, 5S etc.). Education - MSW / MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or Industrial Relations preferred.
