Job Description Chemistry Subject Matter Expert (AI Training) About The Role We're looking for chemistry experts to help train and evaluate the next generation of AI models. Your deep scientific knowledge will directly shape how AI understands and reasons through complex chemistry problems — from undergraduate fundamentals to graduate-level challenges. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of science and cutting-edge AI, collaborating with world-leading research labs from the comfort of your own home. - Organization: Alignerr - Type: Hourly Contract - Location: Remote - Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do - Design challenging, rigorous chemistry problems across domains such as chemical engineering, biochemistry, organic chemistry, and physical chemistry - Develop clear, step-by-step solutions with logically sound reasoning that AI models can learn from - Evaluate AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, depth of reasoning, and quality - Collaborate with researchers to refine benchmarks and evaluation frameworks spanning undergraduate to Master's-level content - Provide structured, expert feedback that directly improves how AI models handle scientific reasoning Who You Are - Currently pursuing or have completed a Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a closely related field - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across advanced chemistry domains - Able to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and precisely in writing - Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and logical rigor - Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and asynchronously - No prior AI experience required Nice to Have - Experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or evaluation systems - Familiarity with AI language models or scientific benchmarking - Background spanning multiple chemistry sub-disciplines Why Join Us - Work on pioneering AI projects with top-tier research labs and institutions - Fully remote and flexible — set your own schedule and work from anywhere - Freelance perks: high autonomy, variety of projects, and global collaboration - Directly contribute to advancing how AI understands science - Potential for ongoing work and contract renewal
