Senior Scientist / Assistant Manager – Assay & Diagnostics Development (Molecular & Imaging)
Hyderabad, India | Full-time
Omicsveu is building next-generation diagnostics, and we're looking for a hands-on scientist who can take assays from idea to validated prototype. This is a high-ownership role for someone strong in molecular biology + immunology, with deep capability in chromogenic and fluorophore-based image analysis (IHC/ISH, IF/multiplex). You'll design experiments, execute quickly, troubleshoot signal issues, and document work to support scale-up.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead assay development projects end-to-end: concept feasibility prototype validation
Define and execute performance studies: sensitivity/specificity, LoD/LoQ, stability, reproducibility
Optimize and standardize workflows across:
PCR/qPCR
Immunoassays
Sample preparation
Readouts and analysis pipelines
Troubleshoot and improve imaging quality for:
Chromogenic (IHC/ISH): background reduction, artifacts, staining consistency
Fluorescence (IF/multiplex): bleed-through, background, illumination artifacts, segmentation issues
Partner with cross-functional teams (R&D, operations, product) to move assays toward scale
Maintain rigorous documentation: protocols, experiment records, validation reports, and tech transfer readiness
PhD in Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a related field, with postdoc and/or industry experience (diagnostics experience strongly preferred)
Demonstrated success in assay/diagnostic development and validation
Strong command of molecular biology and immunology tools, with statistics-driven interpretation
Excellent cross-functional communication and a disciplined documentation mindset
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with ownership and accountability
Experience with multiplexing, quantitative imaging, and/or high-content analysis
Familiarity with DoE (Design of Experiments) for assay optimization
Experience with scale-up and transfer from R&D to implementation
Comfort using AI tools for literature mining, experiment planning, and image analysis workflows
