As Technology Manager, you will work as part of a global team supported by our business, engineering and architecture partners to help us collaboratively develop and deliver industry leading technology solutions that drive lululemons business goals.
A day in the life:
- Lead and grow a team of skilled engineers, architects, and analyststhrough an empathetic, people-centric approach, with strong focus on talent management, career pathing, goal setting, and supporting team members.
- Driveclarity on work scope and executionfor the India teams, translating priorities into clear, actionable delivery plans.
- Partner withTech and product stakeholders across regionsto identify and align on work scope, whilebalancing business priorities, technical debt, and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate withTPMs, Technical Architects, and Senior Engineerson capacity planning, execution strategy, and delivery sequencing.
- Define and upholdquality, security, and engineering standards, working with Quality Engineering and Performance Engineering to ensure high-quality, reliable delivery.
- Establishdelivery governancethrough KPIs, metrics, and status reporting; represent ITH teams in Ops and SteerCo forums, lead architecture reviews, remove ambiguity and blockers, and providethought leadership in bringing AI into the SDLC.
We are seeking ahands-on Technology Managerto leadmultiple mobile application programsfocused on improvingEducator and Guest experiencesin our stores. This role blendsstrong technical depthwithpeople leadership, owning end-to-end delivery of high-quality mobile solutions acrossiOS, backend services, DevOps, quality, and performance engineering. Familiarity with usingAI to enhance the SDLC and address business prioritiesis a good- to-have.
You will partner closely withTech and product stakeholders across regionsto understand priorities and translate requirements into actionable work, deliveringscalable, secure, and high- Performing mobile applicationswhile building and developing high impact engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical & Delivery Leadership:
- Lead theend-to-end design, development, optimization, and product supportof iOS mobile applications (Swift, SwiftUI), applying strong mobile engineering and performance best practices.
- Architect and deliversecure, scalable backend services and APIs(Python/Java or equivalent) using microservices to support mobile platforms, integrations, and evolving business needs.
- Ownproduction readiness and ongoing production support, including being available for escalations, driving incident resolution, and improvingobservability and operational rigorthrough CI/CD and DevOps automation.
- Nice to have:Exposure toAI/ML enabled mobile capabilities(e.g., personalization, predictive insights, chat/voice, fraud detection, computer vision) applied thoughtfully within enterprise security and performance standards.
People & Talent Leadership:
- Build, lead, and mentorhigh performing mobile engineering teams, fostering a culture of ownership, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Drivecareer development, coaching, performance management, and succession planningfor engineers and technical leads.
- Create an inclusive, collaborative environment that encourages innovation and technical excellence.
Product & Stakeholder Partnership:
- Partner with Product Management, Design, and Business stakeholders to translateeducator and guest needsinto scalable technology solutions.
- Provide clear technical direction, manage trade-offs, and communicate progress and risks to senior leadership.
- Contribute totechnology strategy and roadmap planningfor mobile platforms.
Domain & Platform Excellence:
- Deliver mobile applications acrossmultiple regions and markets, considering localization, scale, and reliability.
- Apply strong understanding ofretail and store systems(POS, store operations, integrations) to enhance in store and digital experiences (nice to have).
Qualifications & Experience:
- 1214 years of overall IT experience, delivering scalable, secure software solutions across complex, enterprise environments with strong execution ownership.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in native iOS development (Swift), with deep understanding of mobile architecture, performance optimization, and release practices.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience, leading and developing high-performing engineering teams through coaching, career development, goal setting, and performance management.
- 3+ years of experience delivering end-to-end mobile products, spanning requirements, design collaboration, development, testing, release, and production support.
- Strong backend engineering experience usingPython and/or Java, with hands-on exposure to API-driven andmicroservices-based architecturessupporting mobile platforms.
- Proven experience working withAWS cloud services, designing solutions with a focus on scalability, resilience, security, and cost efficiency.
- Solid background inCI/CD, DevOps practices, observability, and automation, enabling reliable releases, operational stability, and faster time-to-market.
- Nice to have:Experience withAI/ML applications in mobile solutions or within the SDLC, along with exposure to quality automation and performance engineering practices.
