Key Responsibilities :
1. Transcription & Documentation
- Transcribe dictated recordings from cardiologists for procedures such as :
- Echocardiograms (2D / 3D Echo, Stress Echo)
- ECGs, Holter monitoring reports, TMT reports
- Carotid Doppler, ABI studies, and other non-invasive investigations
- Edit and proofread transcripts for grammar, medical terminology, and formatting accuracy.
2. Report Management
Prepare final reports in the required format for patient files, EMR (electronic medical records), and consultants' review.Ensure timely delivery of transcribed reports to meet patient care and department deadlines.3. Terminology & Accuracy
Ensure use of accurate and standardized cardiology-specific terminology.Understand common abbreviations and shorthand used in cardiology dictations.Flag inconsistencies or unclear dictations for review by medical staff.4. Coordination & Support
Work closely with cardiologists, technicians, and clerical staff to streamline report workflows.Maintain confidential patient information in accordance with HIPAA / data protection guidelines.Provide support during audits or record requests by internal or external reviewers.Qualifications & Experience :
Educational Requirement :Bachelor's degree in any stream (preferably life sciences)Certification or diploma in medical transcription (preferred)Experience :Minimum 1–2 years in medical transcription, preferably in cardiology or diagnostic imaging departmentsExperience with speech recognition software is an added advantageSkills & Competencies :
Strong understanding of cardiology terms, investigations, and non-invasive proceduresFast and accurate typing (minimum 50–60 wpm preferred)Excellent listening and comprehension of medical dictationStrong command of English grammar and medical report formattingFamiliarity with EMR systems and transcription softwareAttention to detail and confidentiality handlingSkills Required
