Will be responsible for the uptime of the various client projects being managed / monitored.
Will have to report the daily / weekly / monthly basis database operation checklist.
Will make sure that the Tickets raised per shift are closed in the required time limits and if not escalated as per the escalation Matrix defined.
Raise and update the tickets in NBSS for all the issues handled / worked upon.
Will have to report the daily issues handled / escalated in the form of Daily reports / checklist.
Apply RDBMS patches or upgrade the Edition / Instances as and when required, as per the approval from the respective Team Leaders.
Will have to do audits of the setups done by the fellow engineers to make sure that the setup being handed over to the customer is done to the customer’s satisfaction.
Need to make sure that issues are handled in right time frames as per the SLA / commitments.
Provide technical support to Solution Engineering team & effective training
Understanding of database design / architecture in a PostgreSQL database Server environment.
Experience in managing PostgreSQL database-based applications.
Work closely with development teams and be responsible for physical database performance tuning
Knowledge related to computer hardware including networks, RAID and storage devices (SAN)
Hand-On-Experience Disaster recovery procedure for backup & recovery on Production Servers
Extensively knowledge of Postgresql 9.6 version to latest version.
Knowledge for PostgreSQL Replication i.e. Master / Slave & PostgreSQL Cluster terminology
Hand-On-Experience of Database Troubleshooting pertaining to performance etc.
Knowledge of external SQL Performance & Diagnosis Advisory Tool
Familiar with PostgreSQL Master / Slave and replication concepts
Good understanding of Internet, ERP & CRM based applications
Good understanding of Linux and PostgreSQL hardening
