Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Salesforce Release Engineer to support and optimize our Salesforce release management processes. This role is critical in ensuring smooth, reliable, and well-governed deployments across multiple environments. You will be responsible for leveraging Copado's DevOps platform to manage version control, automate deployments, enforce governance standards, and improve release velocity without compromising quality. The ideal candidate has strong Salesforce knowledge, hands-on experience with Copado, and a proactive mindset to enhance CI/CD practices in alignment with enterprise DevOps strategy.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Release Management
- Plan, coordinate, and execute Salesforce releases using Copado across multiple environments.
- Define and manage branching strategies, commit processes, and deployment pipelines.
- Ensure smooth promotion of changes from development through QA, UAT, STAGE, and Production.
Deployment Automation & CI/CD
- Configure and maintain Copado CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployments.
- Integrate Copado with version control (e.g., Git) and other DevOps tools.
- Optimize existing release workflows for scalability and performance.
Governance & Compliance
- Enforce deployment standards, naming conventions, and change management policies.
- Monitor deployment risks and implement rollback/recovery strategies.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
Collaboration & Support
- Partner with Salesforce Developers, Admins, QA, and business stakeholders to coordinate releases.
- Provide Copado training, best practices, and support to development teams.
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for Copado and Salesforce DevOps processes.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify bottlenecks in the release process and implement solutions.
- Recommend new Copado features, DevOps tools, and methodologies for improvement.
- Drive a culture of automation, repeatability, and reliability in deployments.

Experience And Education Requirements
- A relevant engineering degree or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in Salesforce release management or DevOps roles.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Hands-on expertise with Copado (Admin and Developer functionality).
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce development, lifecycle and metadata management.
- Proficiency with Git-based version control (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or Azure DevOps).
- Experience with CI/CD tools and build automation.
- Solid understanding of Apex, Lightning Components, Flows, and Salesforce metadata.
- Ability to troubleshoot deployment failures and environment conflicts.
